Tucked away on a narrow residential street to the north of Ealing station are two pubs almost right next to each other. The Wheatsheaf seems to be the more commercial and slightly more popular of the two and is a solid local with friendly service and good, well-kept Fullers beers. The decor is standard Fuller's pub territory - traditional but not old-fashioned; the barn-like room at the back is quite attractive with ancient beams and a massive hearth (now ornamental). The atmosphere is pleasant and our Saturday night visit found it comfortably busy with a wide cross- section of locals of all ages. At other times it's the sort of place where you can comfortably go in for a pint on your own without attracting any strange looks. Recommended.
