how to find it:
From Wimbledon station: Turn right, cross the main road (in the direction of Wimbledon village) and the pub is on the right hand side after about 50 metres.

The last of a trio of pubs that you hit within a couple of hundred yards of taking a right turn out of Wimbledon station and one that ticks all the All Bar One boxes. A converted bank, it has the statutory blend of high and low tables mixed with stools, plain chairs and padded benches, comfortable enough and spacious. The extensive wine list is matched by the range of lagers, and nestled among them a decent real ale in London Pride. Well it would be decent if they didn't serve it chilled. Philistines. The stark - oops, sorry, cool and contemporary - lay out and décor also ensures that other AB1 trademark: the noise is deafening. It's one of these chicken and egg equations: do AB1-goers bray and bellow because of the noise or would life be audibly more bearable if they simply put a sock in it? It's a question that would exercise greater minds than ours, and it's one we preferred to ponder on leaving rather than entering the pub. Still, if you're fine with the AB1 brand - and don't fancy the tramp up the hill to the other pubs in the area - then you'll be safe enough here.
