From Old Street: take the exit for Shoreditch and head along Old Street until the road forks. Take the left fork (past the Foundry pub) and continue on until Curtain Road. Turn right and the pub is just down on the left. From Liverpool Street: take the Bishopsgate exit from the station and turn left up Bishopsgate. Walk for about five minutes until you reach the junction with Great Eastern Street and turn left. Take the third right into Curtain Road. The bar is up the road on the right.
Amongst the sea of Hoxton bars, the casual observer might miss the Strongroom bar, tucked away down an ivy covered alley. Associated with the recording studios next door, the owners are trying to make this different from the archetypal Shoreditch posers bar and our visits have always found the atmosphere distinctly uncontrived. A recent refurb, however, has changed a few things around - some for the better, others less so. The downstairs room, once used for club nights and consequently rather sparse has become a relaxed area filled with couches, interesting artwork and a good sound system. Sadly, in contrast, the once fantastic upstairs bar is now rather bland. Filled with uniform tables, the bohemian, ramshackle nature which gave the bar its character is missing. After this disappointment, we were happy to find the jukebox still here - simply one of the best in London, it gives the place an extra pint rating. Refreshments wise, there's an excellent choice of bottled beers and a good food menu. Overall, despite recent changes, if you're after an alternative to the mainstream Hoxton experience, Strongroom might just hit the spot.

This is probably the worst bar experience i've ever had. The most incompetent management and a terrible service makes this place one of the places you feel more sorry for than everything else.
THIS BAR IS NOT RECOMMENDED!
