Hardly the most desirable accolade you can bestow but this one is probably London's best mainline railway station pubs. Given the relatively small size of Marylebone station - and the quality of the competition - that's probably not a surprise, but judged on its merits this one pretty much does the business. Sure, it's mostly chaps in suits delaying their evening journey back home, but not too many station pubs have two pool tables available or a range of six beers on tap. Best of all - just like the station that houses it - a slightly wistful air can dominate. What with its sepia photographs of steam trains or the hat stand and (disused) fireplace in the side bar, this one harks back to times past and feels slightly out of kilter with your average pub. Although, unless you're departing to locations like Amersham or Banbury, it's doubtful that you'll be beating a path to this one's door. However, if you do find your way here, you'll find it to be a decent enough spot and one that might even suggest attempting a London stations pub crawl. Don't bother though - just stick with this one.
