how to find it:

Greenwich: turn left out of the station, cross over the road and walk along for a minute before turning right into Royal Hill. Walk up here for a few minutes and you will find the pub on the left. From Cutty Sark, turn right out of the exit and walk up to Creek Road (by the Wetherspoon pub). Cross Creek Road, turn left and follow the road round, up the hill past the church, towards the hotel. Cross Greenwich High Road and walk a short distance (past the market, if it's on) until you get to Royal Hill - then you'll see the clock tower of the Borough Hall on it. Walk up the hill and follow the road round until you get to the pub.

picture of the hillSay hello to the hill, a new gastropub for Greenwich, wave goodbye to the Barley Mow, the average pub that preceded it. This establishment is, really, a restaurant. A small bar at the front offers Adnams bitter and the usual suspects. There are a few wooden tables and (notably uncomfortable) chairs in this area, where the hill's clientele perch before taking their seats at table for dinner. It's fine for a swift drink or two but, unless you're eating here, you're unlikely to linger much longer than that.
