how to find it:

On leaving Brixton tube, turn right and keep walking. After about 5 minutes you should see the Brixton Academy across the road from you. When you do, turn right down Canterbury Crescent - just beside the police station - and keep walking. You'll soon see the pub.

A pretty average estate pub lifted into the realm of the two-pinter by the combination of punters it attracts. Most of the regulars are from the local estates, but with Brixton Police Station at the bottom of the road, relaxing off-duty coppers are also in evidence. And given that Brixton Academy is also in proximity, you can usually add a sprinkling of gig-goers to the mix. If that wasn't enough, a monthly indie and soul night takes residence in the back room - not sure how that adds to proceedings but we're keen to find out. Nothing spectacular on the drink front but one that serves its range of punters prettily decently.
