The Pakenham Arms continues to be a fine pub, with a good selection of well kept, interesting beers on the hand pumps - Doom Bar, Coaster and Broadside amongst the beers on offer when we were last in. There's loads of great cheap pub grub, plenty of screens to watch the sport and a matey, congenial atmosphere. Its proximity to the Mount Pleasant sorting office probably has something to do with this, especially as the pub does breakfasts 9-11:30 and there's a late licence most days - but whatever the reason for the way it is, we like it. A refurb in the last little bit hasn't affected the quality of the place, just tidied it up a bit. Just the way things should be.
