how to find it:
From Acton Central train station, turn left and left again onto Birkbeck Road. come to the end and turn right onto the High Street. The pub will be on the left in a couple of minutes. From Acton Town tube, turn right, walk to the end of Gunnersbury Lane onto High Street. The pub will be on your right after a couple of minutes.

The Clare Inn is an Irish high-street pub which looks rather quaint from the outside and appears pretty much untouched for a good 25 years on the inside. Faux wooden beams, old carpet, a dog wandering around, lots of tipsy old men and loud younger ones would be the stuff of nightmares for many trendy W3 residents. Nothing to speak of on tap, there's a strangely refreshing down-to-earth feel here, somewhat sullied by an underlying feeling that we weren't really welcome. And they wonder why old-style pubs have a poor reputation sometimes...
