Should you need a meeting up point close to Covent Garden tube, then this pub's as good as any other. It offers a good selection of real ales and also traditional pub grub at decent prices. Just like the other Nicholson's rebrands in the West End you'll find a traditional pub interior (in this case, one not as old as it may at first appear) and an upstairs room if you need more space. There are certainly better pubs to be had in Covent Garden - but also ones that are far, far worse.

Whatever you do, DO NOT EAT at this pub! Two things struck me about this pub when I visited it for a meal recently: 1. The appalling attitude of the staff 2. The mice that were playing happily at our feet as we ate. Yes, that's right, mice. Out in the restaurant for all to see, including the staff. Yes, the management DO KNOW about the mice infestation, and yes THEY ARE STILL SERVING FOOD. Would you want to eat there? When the infestation of vermin was pointed to the waitress and manager, all we got was an apathetic "and?" followed by "this is typical in London". Not only did they not offer to refund our meal, but they didn't once apologise, or even care that paying customers were eating alongside the local neighbourhood mice. Bear in mind the restaurant is upstairs - so they are likely to be in the kitchen too. Aside from the mice problem, the service was just appalling. Our food was wrong, came at differnt times and when we pointed out we weren't getting what was on the menu, both the waitress and manager tried to argue with us, rather than just give us what we'd ordered! The staff couldn't care less about customers - they even had to be coaxed to take our order within 30mins! What is disappointing is that while anyone who has ever eaten there will probably never go back, this is in a tourist trap - so there will always be a steady flow of new individials gullable enough to visit - so they will never have to change. Unless trading standards closes them for an infestation of course!
only one comment, so far on this pub - why not add your own?
