picture of El Aguajal (ex Salisbury)When we discovered that hidden in Dalston was a South American pub, it certainly intrigued us. And indeed, rather than a plastic commercialised Latino bar, this was a real "Latin Pub", catering for Dalston's Peruvian, Brazilian and Columbian locals. Notwithstanding a recent name change, little else has changed, inside or out. The décor painted in green and white with posters and plastic flowers scattered around is sadly nothing to write home about, but there's a good selection of unusual spirits and at least one Peruvian bottled beer. Our food however was superb and authentic; people in West End restaurants would pay twice as much for food like this, if they could find it. Atmosphere-wise, we suspect it's the crowd who make (or break) this place and although we definitely enjoy eating here, for drinking we tend to go elsewhere.

Generally fish or meat based, home made, Peruvian specialities. Prices between £7-£9. Superb.
