picture of The VillageThe Village enjoys a prime location on a pleasant Battersea square and has a large outside seating space, a huge advantage during the warmer days which helps cope with the limited interior. Even if quite comfortable, the seating area is fairly small and messy with sofas crammed between chairs and tables. It feels more of a restaurant than a bar. In fact the food menu is far more exhaustive than the drinking one with only one beer on tap and a restricted wine list. Even if the landlord is friendly, the service is not always up to the same standards but remains acceptable. The place appears to attract surrounding businesses at lunchtime and youngish locals in the evening but without ever managing to be very busy. The Village seems to be struggling to establish itself in an area where others have already managed to do it. Not a bad place but there are others to see around here.
