how to find it:
The easiest way to get to this one is to get on a Number 1 bus and get off at the start of Grange Road. Take your first right down Page's Walk and you'll find the pub on your right. Otherwise it's a long walk from London Bridge or an even longer one from Borough tube.

Located on the same street as UK's leading supplier of heating and plumbing products, the Victoria is a cracking boozer. The beautiful but tired Truman's exterior with an air of faded grandeur gives way to an island bar with comfy leatherette banquettes. Things are governed over by your archetypal friendly landlord: all the regulars get a greeting that's almost as friendly as those he reserves for newcomers. As for drinks, we stuck to London Pride but were nearly swayed by the fine selection of spirits topping the bar. We didn't have the chance to sample the food, but the simple lunchtime menu (sandwiches, salads etc) looks worth chancing. On our afternoon visit the regulars were getting ready to enjoy the football, but we were encouraged to come back later for their disco, which benefits from a late licence; if we lived nearby we would've been tempted. All in all, a fine pub and one all but the most nervous of North Londoners should cross the Thames and visit.
