picture of Tower Tavern
A decent watering hole in the shadow of the BT Tower, hence its name, The Tower Tavern caters mostly for a business lunchtime crowd. In quieter times, students provide the custom. There is decent pub grub, with Sunday roasts and pie, mash and liquor available on Mondays, the beer is reasonable with Abbot and IPA on the hand pumps, and service is usually good. It is, though, slightly off the beaten track and perhaps the interior is a little bland and like a hotel bar, so you can't exactly say it has a crackling atmosphere. But, if you're looking for a reasonably priced rest and refuelling stop in the West End, it'll fulfill your needs perfectly.
