picture of House
Not any old house this but The House, described by its owners as a new pub and dining room.' It certainly veers strongly towards gastro territory, like its sister pub/restaurant The Bull in Highgate, and with knives and forks set out on most tables isn't really encouraging anyone to just go in for a drink. It does, though, have a small garden at the front, which isn't a bad spot for a pint in the summer. If a beer isn't your thing then perhaps the Islington Sling' off the cocktail menu would appeal. Unfortunately, last time we tried to enjoy the garden we didn't stay long because of the multitude of three-wheeled prams and the ear-piercing sounds emanating from them.
