From Highbury, exit right onto Upper Street and walk for a couple of minutes. Canonbury Lane will appear on your left at the traffic lights and the bars on the right.

A makeover and more upmarket direction - if that's possible - for this tiny style bar just off Upper Street. It's opulently decorated, with gilt mirrors, fresh flowers, funky lampshades and stencilled walls and beautiful people to match. In compensation for a selection of average beer with no bitters to speak of, there's an extensive cocktail list and reasonably priced (and pretty fab-smelling) Thai food available to keep the hunger pangs at bay. Importantly for a place like this, the clientele are pleasantly mixed, albeit in a decidedly upmarket sort of way, which when mixed with attentive, friendly and capable staff, making it a great place to go. So, if you're after a more genteel experience at the northern end of Upper Street, '25' is certainly worth a look.
