From the same people behind The Rye in Peckham, here's a swished up pub for SE27. Its grand name is matched by its furnishings: candelabra, mirrors and expensive looking wallpaper. It certainly stands out from the other pubs nearby - not too many in this neck of the woods have a grand piano in the corner - but there's still a welcoming and relaxed air to the place. Nice too to see their own Mansion ale on tap, alongside a regular selection including Hoegaarden and a decent wine list. A gastro-ish menu if you're feeling hungry, but this one does the job if you're just after a couple of drinks and a chat with your mates.
