how to find it:
If you don't have a car, this one requires a bit of a walk. However, From Crews Hill station, exit onto Cattlegate Road, and then right onto Theobalds Park Road. Whitewebbs Lane will shortly be on your left and the pub is on the right after about half a mile. The W10 bus from Enfield Town also serves this area.
Certainly one of the more out-of-the-way pubs featured on Fancyapint.com, the King and Tinker is a bizarre locals pub within earshot of the M25. Set in ample grounds, there was plenty of space for the car park (with no fewer than three Range Rovers present) a beer garden and children's play area, complete with bouncy castle. A greater part of the building dates back to the 16th century, with low beamed ceilings and a huge floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace evidence to this. Apart from a group of golfers enjoying a 19th hole drink, the clientele (with an age range of 8-80) all knew each other and with so many 'characters' in residence, you almost expected a fly-on-the-wall camera crew to pop out. Clearly a pub considerably out of the way for most people, if you happen to be visiting the northern reaches of
Whitewebbs Park on a sunny day, the King and Tinker is (literally) the only place to be.
