You'd be forgiven for thinking that, from the look of these two elegant townhouses in trendy Stoke Newington, converted into a bar and restaurant, you were onto a winner. Sadly, what you get is rather lacklustre. The upstairs section is home to a pizza restaurant and the basement holds the bar, but on our warm Sunday afternoon visit we were able to sit outside. This was just as well, as the bar was reminiscent of a vaguely tacky 1980s Essex nightclub, with shiny decoration, geezers around the bar shouting about mobile phones and a rather enthusiastic card game taking place in the corner. The beer was average, but the food was cheap and reasonable, with a fair selection of pizzas, salads and pasta. It's a shame this was marred by utterly ramshackle service - muddled orders and every item arriving separately, each over 10 minutes apart. Apart from the nice outside space, Booth's sadly holds little attraction in an area filled with great places to eat and drink.
