Bar Lorca, Kentish Town  

In Bar Lorca's development from a Bank to a squat and then finally to a 'trendy' bar, you might've hoped that some of this legacy had rubbed off. Well, it hasn't and what we have here instead is a fairly standard-looking West-end style bar - low lights, leather cubes and high level seating, premium lagers and cocktails. The music was OK though - "lounge drum & base", as one of our group accurately described it - and Tapas style food is on offer, although we neither tried nor saw it. In its favour there's a late licence (1am on weekends) and a slightly more mature crowd (in both age and attitude) compared to similar looking places nearer to central London. Overall, there's a better atmosphere here than we would have imagined.
