If you're of the opinion that all of the East End's boozers have been stripped out and relaunched as clinical gastropubs, then you probably haven't had a drink in this one for a while. Tucked away off Wapping Lane, this little local still pays homage to a Holy Trinity of pool, darts and Sky Sports. It's just a little off the beaten track and so misses out on the pub crawlers / walkers tackling the more famous pubs on the Thames path. That's not to say this one doesn't have historical connections - the Turner in question is JMW who owned a pub in the area - but it doesn't play them up to any great extent. Perhaps one more for the locals, but it still picks up a crowd from those who've worked up a thirst in the nearby sports centre.
