The Garden Ladder is an established part of the Green Lanes (or Harringay Village for the estate agents out there) drinking scene, providing more of a bar atmosphere than the local rivals. This former restaurant is quite narrow, but a series of mirrors help it feel wider. Recently there have been some subtle décor changes, introducing a greater variety of seating, making better use of the space, and in our opinion improving the overall look. There was already some interesting touches, including a glass bar containing dried flowers. Alan Partridge's favourite Directors Bitter is amongst the drinks options, there is always a guest ale, and the food menu is also worthy of your consideration. The service, although usually excellent, can become a bit flustered as the staff seem to be trying to juggle more than one task at a time, but this is certainly not enough to discourage us from returning. Still a great option if you're in the area.

Eating at The Garden Ladder ... we last ate here on 09/05/2009

We can definitely recommend the pies, which are a class above ordinary pub fare.
