sorry no picture of this pubOne of the more Gastro-oriented pubs in the area, the Hop Poles still usually does a fair job at being a proper pub. The interior is pleasant and the cute back garden a real draw in the warmer months, but the service can be variable. We've had no problems ourselves, but have seen others been treated in a rather stand-offish manner - rather as if some of the trendy types behind the bar find it too much hard work to be pleasant to everyone. A big deal is made of the food and although we've yet to try it, those unaccustomed to London prices will think its rather expensive. Overall, worth a trip midweek but watch out for weekends, when it proves almost too popular and free tables often become non-existent.
