how to find it:

Nothing in Chipping Camden is very far away (though the nearest train station is in Moreton in Marsh). Most likely you'll end up in the square in the centre of the village, and the Eight Bells is just around the corner. If you locate the Lygon Arms Hotel from the Square - it should be visible on the south east side of the square - head for it and go past it. A short distance beyond it, you'll come to Church Street and the pub is just down the street on the left.

Located just off the High Street in Chipping Camden, in the heart of the Cotswolds, this 14th century pub has most of the bases covered. Serving the local brew is a good start - Hook Norton Best and 'Old Hooky' - both well kept and very drinkable. In keeping with pubs in the area and it's location, it's a great pub: it's doing what it does well and it knows who its customers are. It's popular with locals and visitors to the area, and it gets busy. The large portions of food are more upmarket (and pricey) than your normal local pub, but very good, nonetheless. It's non-smoking throughout, but there's a nice terrace overlooking the nearby church if you have to indulge those cravings. This is a great place to go if your passing through or staying in the area, and we'd guess they do a great Sunday Roast.
