Out of Acton Town tube, turn right and keep walking up the main road. Mill Hill Road is a turn on the right - keep walking up it to get to the pub. All in all, it's about a 15 minute walk.
Having somehow survived the construction a small gaggle of 1960s tower blocks to its left and the very recent construction of some newer (but no more attractive) low rise flats to it's right, you get the impression this locals' boozer can't be long for this world. On our visit a hustler was taking on all comers at pool and voices were only raised when the jukebox spluttered to a halt (normality was soon restored with 'Hotel California' then 'Whiskey in the Jar' - possibly the default setting for this model of jukebox). Whilst Acton has some better - and arguably worse - pubs, we nevertheless developed a soft spot for this one. It earns a two pint rating just by its sheer survival - weren't pubs like this one supposed to have died off a while ago?
