From the city centre head down St. Owen's street, then down Eign Road. The pub is on the left hand side as the road goes uphill.

This well-maintained local on the eastern edge of the city is a friendly spot for a quick pint, some good value pub grub or even a bit of a session. Sometimes there is live music to further stimulate the atmosphere, though if this isn't to your tastes it can dominate proceedings as the pub is essentially one room. There is also a spacious conservatory section on the side, which leads out to a covered and heated smoking area at the bottom of a very steep beer garden. Trying to carry three beers to the top is a feat akin to a salmon attempting to swim back upstream.
