Slotted into the railway arches under London Bridge station, the Davy's spit and sawdust wine cellar theme is perfectly at home here. Unlike many of the City bars, faking it in the basement of an office block, this is the real deal and it's so much the better for it - creating an atmosphere that no amount of clever interior decoration could fake. The usual range of Davy's wine and beer is on offer - Old Wallop, bitter, lager, Guinness etc - and it's all perfectly acceptable and there's decent, honest food to accompany it. Despite the fact it's next door to a couple of London's tackiest tourist traps, this place seems hardly affected by them - it's a pretty decent place for a spot of lunch or quiet afternoon conversation over a drink or two. The only real downside are the crowded Thursday and Friday nights when office parties and leaving dos take over most of the available space.
