Perhaps living up to its name, Odd One Out is a pub out of synch with the rest of the pub world. While fashions come and go, this atmospheric boozer remains true to itself. It maybe a cliché, but coming here is like going back in time 50 years - ancient but comfy furniture, no music and doors painted in that post-war green colour normally only fleetingly seen when redecorating. Some people would call it grubby, but 'lived in' is a more apt description. The generic lagers are certainly there, but look hard as they're hidden behind piles of magazines and newspapers - you come here instead to enjoy their excellent choice of ales, real ciders and perries, along with an enviable selection of Scotch. Food is in the guise of cling filmed sarnies, while the locals are a friendly bunch and the back garden charm personified. One day, as everything eventually does, this pub will change - we just hope its not for a long, long time.
