Surprisingly for its location, this is still just a pub. We're sure the temptation was there to just gut the place and turn it into A. N. Other bar, but they've resisted. There have been some small moves to modernise it and offer a more modern selection - Staropramen and Leffe pumps have been installed, but aren't yet working. The beers they do have on aren't bad, Bombardier, Green King's IPA and Pride were on when we were in last. The menu's good, too, if a bit predictable, but then they're only meeting their customer's demands, no doubt. It's got a few cosy corners and there's another whole bar upstairs (which is available for hire). It is very close to all those upmarket boutiques, and is no doubt a haven for the husbands, if not the shoppers themselves, amidst all the glitz and glamour - a genuine oasis in a shopping desert.
