picture of Three CompassesSince this pub was gutted and refurbished, it's done nothing but improve. There's still a Thai restaurant upstairs, but the pub itself is unrecognisable. It now looks more like a modern pub or wine bar, and the clientele has moved as upmarket as the pub - no bad thing in our opinion. The makeover, beer and wine selection and smart-looking staff suggest that its been bought up by a pub group of some kind, but there's no real evidence to support that. While it looks like they're still finding their feet, a reasonable pint of Adnam's combined with attentive staff mean our first impressions are good.
