A small pub with a lovely tiled exterior, the Tom Cribb is hidden sufficiently behind Leicester Square that you should be able to enjoy a reasonable drink most of the time. Named after a 19th century world champion English bare-knuckle boxer who owned a pub nearby, it can fill up after the Prince of Wales Theatre empties out. Even so, it's a friendly enough place and serves a nice pint, too. Now under the Shepherd Neame umbrella, a knockout pub it ain't, but it still clinches a three pint rating.

I can't say anything remotely nice about this pub. The fact it bans children, groups and anyone wearing a St Georges Cross speaks for itself. Not only are the bar staff rude and the owner "ban happy" it actually doesn't even serve a decent pint. I would honestly avoid this pub at all costs, even if it means spending an extra 20p a pint elsewhere. The pub is ran by people who don't allow anyone to enter with an England top or flag. What kind of pub would this be during the World Cup?

I wish I could say something nice about this pub. It clearly has potential. However, its evening barmaid was very rude recently. After attending an importnat film premiere on Leicester Square myself, family and friends visited. She immediately approached me and said "no children allowed. And no groups allowed." This could have been said more diplomatically with a "Sorry sir, but I'm afraid the pub's policy is..." My 11 year old daughter was very upset by this. We had the last word though because we took our valuable business elsewhere - to a nearby pub who welcomed us all with open arms.
