From Angel tube, simply head north along Upper Street and then walk down Essex Road - the pub is on your right. From Essex Road station, walk south until you reach the pub, on your left.

This has settled into a decent pub after starting out as a trendy Essex Road bar - still sporting the name of our favourite Damned tune. The moody interior's not changed, still lots of exposed brick, candles and uplighters; if anything, it's just a bit more worn in. And, the toilet signs however, titled George and Mildred are probably a joke lost on anyone under 25. Good beer, and friendly service seem to be making sure the locals come back, and they are. It's a good place to watch the footy on their big screens, and the pizzas on offer look and smell fantastic. It's worth a look if you're in the area and miles better than some around it. We're fascinated by the name of it's film club - The Cosmic Film club - so we'll have to pop along and see what that's all about.
