Myself and three friends regularly meet in London on the First tuesday of every month and have done for nearly 23 years. We come from all over the country and nearly always end up in a Wetherspoons pub later in teh evening.
True Wetherspoons pubs are particularly dreadful when the offices have just sluiced out. But leave them until say 8:30 when the hordes have disipated somewhat, they mysteriously clear, there are seats, the beer in this pub is usually pretty good and reasonably priced and the food is acceptable.
Seriously, avoid these as the first stop of an evening, try some of this guide's more exotic choices for the first two or three pints, then wander in when the rush has abated. you might end up being pleasantly surprised.
Oh, and its got a gents shaped like the Tardis control room!posted by Martin L - Wednesday 22nd August, 2007, 6:10pm
