This pub was one of the first of the Wetherspoon pubs that went against the original ethos of the JDW chain and installed a Big Screen for Sky TV. Perhaps it is part of some sort of Government sponsored research into what happens when you mix together cheap, cheap drink and football fans in a confined space. If the notion appeals, give it a look. Otherwise, it's a standard after-office Wetherspoon pubs - perhaps one best utilised as somewhere to meet before heading on elsewhere. Also of note in having - arguably - the largest hire-able space (its downstairs bar) of any pub in Central London.

Myself and three friends regularly meet in London on the First tuesday of every month and have done for nearly 23 years. We come from all over the country and nearly always end up in a Wetherspoons pub later in teh evening. True Wetherspoons pubs are particularly dreadful when the offices have just sluiced out. But leave them until say 8:30 when the hordes have disipated somewhat, they mysteriously clear, there are seats, the beer in this pub is usually pretty good and reasonably priced and the food is acceptable. Seriously, avoid these as the first stop of an evening, try some of this guide's more exotic choices for the first two or three pints, then wander in when the rush has abated. you might end up being pleasantly surprised. Oh, and its got a gents shaped like the Tardis control room!
