This old style country inn, now transformed into a high-end gastro-style place, isn't really a classic drinker's place. But given that there's not much in the area except for the Ribble Valley countryside this makes perfect economic sense. Moreover, it's well worth it given that the food really is a cut above the average. Given that this is a site dedicated to drinking, we'll confine ourselves to noting that it prides itself on offering the best local and seasonal produce, and this policy extends to the beers on offer. Although it might not be best to do so at busy times, it is still possible to come in just for a drink. You've got a good choice of local ales, an extensive wine list and a good variety of whiskys and gins to choose from.
