picture of Tea Clipper
From the outside the Tea Clipper promises a good, cosy, English pub experience. Inside, unfortunately, it falls a little short of the mark. It still has some Victorian stuff (mainly the windows) but most of the rest of the interior has been restored or faked. The nautical theme is there, but a little understated. However, following a recent relaunch, the beer on the three hand pumps is pretty good, particularly the Hogsback Brewery's T.E.A. beer and the food's also improved with a new menu and pretty prompt service, even when the pub's busy. It is easy to see why it's popular with the locals - particularly on a warm evening, as it's a nice place to sit outside and enjoy a little sun.

we visited this pub after a shocker in harrods in 05.what an oasis after the zoo of that place. nice cold bottles of speckled hen, then the tastiest beef and beer pie(huge) we have come across. sure miss londons genuine pubs. p.s. theres a little local at sidcup called "the alma" suprisingly on alma road, nice punters, top landlord, friendly staff.try the lunches. regards skippy
