The Albany is a pretty decent pub. The beer is fine - up to Cask Marque standard, no less - with a selection of guest ales on the hand pumps as well as Leffe and Hoegaarden for those in a continental mood. The service is good and there's a stronger emphasis on food with an improved menu, including lunch and evening snacks. It's got a fairly traditional interior, but was done up a few years ago when pubs went for 70's and 80's furniture and butcher's block tables, so it's probably due for a refurb (even though it's not changed in years). We've done Post Modern, we've done Post Ironic, let's hope they think of something new. Also well established, the basement is known as Low-down and has comedy on every night, interspersed with regular club nights.
