picture of The CastleWe were pretty scathing about the place after it's refit a few years ago, but the place has settled down now and improved somewhat. As one of those M&B unbranded pubs it's got a decent range of booze, the menu's decent (although it does do fishfinger sandwiches with lime mayo, when everyone knows it should be salad cream, ketchup or, ideally, both) and the service prompt and friendly. It's also not as pricey as many of the places around, either. It can get crowded towards the weekend, especially as it's on the main drag, but, if you can find a seat, it's not a bad place for a pint or two.
