how to find it:

Take the Wells Terrace exit of Finsbury Park tube station, head through the bus station and turn left onto Stroud Green Road. Take the second turning on the right into Ennis Road, and the pub at the top, on the left, where it joins Perth Road.

Hidden away on a back street just north of Finsbury Park, the Faltering Fullback is a distinctly better alternative than any other pub within the vicinity of the station. It stocks an impressive range of draught and bottled beers, and has a friendly, laid-back local atmosphere. There's also an impressively cavernous back room full of picnic tables and a pool table, that appears to attract a younger crowd than the front area. In keeping with its name the pub regularly screens football and rugby, though its pretty unobtrusive and quite possible to enjoy your drink if you're not interested in the game. Recommended.

Good quality thai food, with most main meals cheap enough to give you change from a fiver.

The best pub in the area by a country mile - a 3 pint rating seems a bit mean, especially when the Old Dairy gets the same rating! Best thing about it is the distinct areas which provide a totally different drinking experience.
