Having heard such great things about The Morgan Arms, how dissapointed we were with the food. The service, environment and wine choice was great but the food was truely awful. Our party had 2 steaks and 1 fishcake with juiliene fried potatoes. The steaks were fatty and the fishcakes were burnt on the outside and soggy & cold on the inside the fried potatoes were very dark brown due to the oil in the fryer needed to be changed. 1 of our party ordered sticky toffee pudding and the caramel sauce was burnt too. Maybe the 'normal' chef was on holiday the evening we visited (26 Jan 2008). I feel truely let down.posted by martinmerry - Sunday 13th January, 2008, 12:20pm
really disappointed! OK it was Saturday night and completely packed but everyone was shouting to try and get themselves heard over the background taped music. Very slow service but the real ale, when it arrived, was very good quality. Shame!
