From Stoke Newington train station, exit left, and follow the road straight (against the one way traffic) until you reach Stoke Newington Church Street on the right. The bar is about 6 minutes walk down on the left.

Ryan's Bar, with its bright and cheery yellow exterior, is one of the slightly more alternative places in Stoke Newington. There's a heavy focus on music and on any given night the basement plays host to a wide range of live acts, along with DJs upstairs almost every day of the week. A larger than average beer garden also compares favourably to other nearby pubs and the cheap Thai food will fill a hole perfectly well while you drink. Our visit found it quiet (in that common late Saturday afternoon lull) but there were enough people to still give it a bit of atmosphere and we know it picks up considerably later in the evening. Another competent pub to add to the long list of competent pubs in N16.
