This back street pub has had a lick of paint and a change of furnishings in recent years. Thankfully nothing too dramatic though. It helps that even though the obligatory leather sofas have been installed, the period windows (with Watney's lettering) have been kept in place. Since opening, the drink options have improved, with Timothy Taylor's Landlord, Staropramen and Erdinger now being the most visible options. What this one does have in its favour is the eagerness of the staff and an amiable atmosphere. Best of all, even with the excellent food this one isn't a food-led gastro conversion: it's still a pub. You'll also hear some decent selections on the CD player (though the monthly psych-folk Sundays are a more acquired taste). Plenty of pubs have been remodelled in the area around King's Cross but this one's arguably the most compact and friendly.

Eating at The Harrison ... we last ate here on 01/05/2008

Decent, unpretentious food - Sunday roasts, weekday lunch and dinner menu all come recommended (and a special bit of praise for the Steak, Mushroom and Oyster pie we had the last time we ate here).
