picture of Bountiful Cow
Just like its sister pub the Seven Stars, this one shares both an owner and a devotion to the Suffolk beers of Adnams. The interior too, takes its cue from the aforementioned pub, being both small and having walls decorated with old movie posters. That the Bountiful Cow's are for cowboy films illustrates the emphasis here on burgers, steaks and all things bovine-related (vegetarians look away now). So, perhaps more steakhouse than boozer then, but at least we're not talking one of those touristy Aberdeen Angus abominations. We haven't tried the downstairs dining room yet, but the ground floor bar was pleasant enough. Still, this one offers something different from the other eateries and drinkeries of the area and given its slightly secluded location, you can usually bag a seat here.

Eating at The Bountiful Cow ... we last ate here on 04/09/2008

Meat-heavy menu - specifically steaks. Prices from £7.50 to £17.50. Club Sandwich (£9.00) was excellent, as was the (£12.50) lamb steak.

looking a little worn around the edges, more of a bar diner than a pub, but the staff were polite and fast, steak was of good quality although could have been a bit hotter and more generous on the chips, and good value considering, well worth seeking out.
only one comment, so far on this pub - why not add your own?
