From the long velvet rope and the three bouncers on the door, we thought on our Saturday night visit there would be problems getting into Catch. Or at least an entry fee. Thankfully we were wrong on both counts. Inside Catch is mildly bland but practical - a vision in brown and cream - with four seater booths on a raised section down one side of the room and the bar along the other. On out latest visit, as busy as it was, it didn't feel manic and the service was fast and friendly. We have been on other occasions though when the heaving crowds have been too much to handle. Upstairs is the live music venue, which is even blander than downstairs. With a couple of very dark corners, we saw first hand how easy it was to smash your shins or trip over some hidden step. Nevertheless, Catch is worth popping in for a couple to hear some bands, or perhaps as part of a mammoth Hoxton pub crawl.
